About Flow Science Deutschland
Flow Science Deutschland GmbH is the German subsidiary of Flow Science, Inc., headquartered in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. We represent the FLOW-3D product family in 10 Central European countries, providing sales, technical support, training, application consulting, and engineering services for numerical flow analysis in industry and research.
As a trusted expert in flow simulation using FLOW-3D, Flow Science delivers reliable, high-value decision support to organizations across a wide range of industries, including water and environmental engineering, metal casting, additive manufacturing, welding processes, automotive engineering, microfluidics, coating technologies, and many other application areas.
Our History: Driving Technological Evolution
Flow Science Deutschland has been part of the international Flow Science Group since 2012. With its new headquarters in Aachen, the company has established a central hub for technological innovation and close customer collaboration.
Pioneers of flow simulation
Founded in 1980 in the United States by Dr. C.W. “Tony” Hirt, Flow Science has been dedicated from the very beginning to the development of groundbreaking technologies for the simulation of free-surface flows. These early innovations laid the foundation for the FLOW-3D software family, which has been continuously expanded and refined ever since. Flow Science pioneered key technologies such as the Volume-of-Fluid (VOF) method and the introduction of TruVOF technology, enabling even more accurate and efficient simulations, from liquid and gas flows to highly complex fluid–structure interactions.
Growth
Over the years, Flow Science has evolved into a global technology provider, supported by subsidiaries and partners around the world. Today, the company is represented internationally by more than 30 partner organizations. A major milestone in its growth journey was the acquisition by the German Dr. Flender Holding in 2021.

Flow Science Deutschland serves as the Center of Excellence for technical expertise and customer support in the German-speaking region, Scandinavia, and the Benelux countries.
Our Application Consulting Team
We are driven by a passion for solving complex engineering challenges in fluid dynamics, hydraulics, additive manufacturing, and casting technology. Our interdisciplinary team of international experts – including engineers, physicists, interface developers, and specialists in numerical simulation – combines deep scientific expertise with practical, real-world implementation. In application consulting, you are supported by our sales engineers, who bring technical insight and industry experience to every project.
