EUC 2026: Shaping the Future of Simulation

Düsseldorf, Germany, 22 June, 2026 – From June 15 to 17, 2026, Düsseldorf was the focal point of the European FLOW-3D community. The FLOW-3D European Users Conference 2026 at the Steigenberger Parkhotel on the Königsallee brought together high-caliber technical presentations with a lively exchange among experts from across Europe.

Sharing Knowledge, Pushing Boundaries

Over two days, more than 30 speakers from industry and research presented groundbreaking insights and real-world application examples from the fields of water management, casting technology, and laser processing. The three parallel tracks — Water & Environmental, Casting, and Laser Processing — offered every attendee relevant content at the highest level. Particularly impressive was the thematic breadth: from the hydraulic modeling of a dam to AI-driven casting simulation at a global corporation, and innovative laser welding processes for electric drivetrains at Bosch — EUC 2026 impressively demonstrated how versatile FLOW-3D is in modern engineering practice.
The enthusiasm of the attendees speaks for itself. Robert Strauss from the University of Innsbruck, winner of the Best Presentation Award in the Laser Processing Track, shared his impressions on LinkedIn: “I was impressed by all the incredible presentations and creative ways CFD simulations are utilized in many different research fields!”

Community at its best

Flow Science President John Wendelbo opened the conference with an engaging talk on the future of simulation-driven engineering solutions. The conference days offered a varied program: experts from companies such as Volkswagen AG, Bosch, EDF, and Roche Diagnostics, as well as from renowned research institutions, demonstrated in the subsequent technical presentations, training sessions, and discussions how FLOW-3D is used in industry and research today.

The poster session on Monday evening, the hands-on training sessions on FLOW-3D CAST, WELD, AM und HYDRO, as well as the conference dinner at Brasserie Stadthaus in Düsseldorf’s historic Old Town provided the perfect setting for inspiring conversations and valuable connections. The open and motivating atmosphere of the FLOW-3D community ran as a common thread throughout the entire event. Marco Bottin from Form Stampi summed it up: “I found the conference simply wonderful, rich in content, inspiring, and the FLOW-3D community, even beyond one’s own track, very open, motivated, and motivating!”

After two days of an intensive program of technical presentations, training sessions, and networking, Wendelbo’s closing talk on the convergence of artificial intelligence, GPU technology, and FLOW-3D brought the event to a close leaving attendees with a clear perspective on the future of simulation.

Highlights der EUC 2026

The conference delivered on all fronts: leading technical experts from across Europe presented their findings in a total of 35 presentations. Twelve scientific posters enriched the poster session and sparked in-depth technical discussions. The Best Presentation Awards recognized the most outstanding contributions of the conference. All conference attendees receive exclusive access to a four-month complimentary FLOW-3D (x) license, including accompanying training sessions introducing modern automation and optimization workflows.

Best Presentation Awards — Mentoring und Inspiration

The Best Poster Award also provided a notable moment. Stephan Goeke from Volkswagen AG shared his thoughts on LinkedIn: “One of the most rewarding moments in a career is seeing someone you have mentored surpass their own expectations. This week at the FLOW-3D European Users Conference 2026, one of the amazing students whose bachelor thesis I had the privilege to supervise at our company received the Best Poster Award. Seeing her walk up to receive her award was the highlight of the conference for me.”
Congratulations to Celine Siebert on this outstanding achievement, and to all recipients of the Best Presentation Awards!

A Heartfelt Thank You

EUC 2026 was a successful event that further strengthened the exchange of expertise within the European FLOW-3D community. Our sincere thanks go to all speakers, poster presenters, attendees, and the entire team that made this event possible. We are already looking forward to the next conference!
